The MCAT is standardized. People are not.
Nokota MCAT Tutoring provides free, individualized support for pre-med students who are neurodivergent, financially under-resourced, or both. Accepted students receive one-on-one tutoring, personalized study planning, and ongoing accountability support at no cost.
A study plan can look reasonable on paper and still be impossible to execute.
Most MCAT preparation systems assume consistent attention, dedicated time, money for resources, and an existing roadmap through premedical education. Those assumptions do not fit every capable student. Nokota helps students build a preparation system around their actual learning profile, constraints, and goals.
The program is designed for students with documented learning differences, neurodivergent learning profiles, first-generation status, or those who are financially under-resourced. In our experience, commercial programs often fail to accommodate these students' learning needs and constraints. Here are some signs Nokota may be a fit for you:
You understand the material, but converting it into a strong MCAT performance has been very difficult.
Generic schedules and repeated advice to “be more disciplined” have not addressed the actual barrier.
You are navigating the MCAT or medical-school application process without the financial access or inherited roadmap that others may have.
You have been studying for the MCAT for more than 6 months, have had to delay the exam, or have taken extra gap years because of it.
Another tutor or company has told you that you cannot succeed on the MCAT or should give up on medical school. Several students we've supported heard the same thing, and succeeded anyway.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. All services currently offered through Nokota are provided at no cost to accepted participants. There are no tiers, upgrades, or charges of any kind at any stage.
Paid tutoring was indefinitely put on hold in 2025. We do not offer paid services at this time.
Accepted participants receive individualized support directed toward whatever part of preparation is most useful for them. Group sessions and a selected set of free preparation resources are also available as part of the broader program. Group sessions are unlimited.
The learning differences pathway requires one of the listed forms of documentation: an IEP or 504 Plan, formal accommodations approval, or documentation from a licensed clinician or psychologist. Self-identification alone does not satisfy that pathway. A student without such documentation may still qualify through the need-based pathway by meeting at least two of its three criteria.
For the learning-differences pathway: an IEP or Section 504 Plan from secondary school or a university; formal accommodations approval from the AAMC, a university disability-services office, or another recognized testing organization; or documentation from a licensed clinician or psychologist confirming a diagnosed learning disability or neurodevelopmental condition.
Current or previous Pell Grant eligibility; first-generation college-student status, meaning neither parent holds a four-year undergraduate degree; or a verification letter from a university advisor, pre-health office, or financial-aid office confirming financial hardship or need-based aid. At least two of the three are required.
Applicants who meet the criteria for both pathways receive priority consideration during review.
No. We unfortunately have finite capacity, and each application is reviewed individually. Meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee acceptance.
A short discussion of your path to medical school, your current preparation, your timeline, and the barriers you have encountered. It is not a content quiz and not a test of your qualifications for free tutoring.
Nokota can offer guidance on the accommodations process and on documentation considerations. However, we cannot diagnose disability, interface with the AAMC, assist in neuropsychological testing, care coordination, or any other direct aspect of the accommodations process.
No. Outcomes vary between students. No company or tutor can guarantee a score increase. However, we have not yet worked with a student who did not see a score increase.
Uploaded documents are fully encrypted in transit and in storage. They are not publicly accessible without encryption keys. Documents are permanently deleted after a decision is made on your application.
