Alex Krawec

Alex Krawec

FOUNDER & LEAD INSTRUCTOR (ENGLISH)

Alex Krawec is a fourth-year medical student at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA pursuing a career in psychiatry. He has more than a decade of experience working with neurodivergent learners and teaching in settings ranging from piano and high school biology to individualized MCAT preparation. Before founding Nokota MCAT Tutoring, Alex worked as an instructor for several major test-preparation and admissions consulting organizations.

He founded Nokota in 2023 after recognizing that many students were poorly served by the standardized, one-size-fits-all approach common to traditional MCAT preparation. Nokota was built around a more individualized model: adapting strategy, pacing, and instruction to the way each student actually learns. To date, Alex has tutored more than 30 students.

Alex Krawec scored 522 overall on the MCAT, at the 99th percentile: 129 in Chemistry and Physics, 130 in CARS, 131 in Biology and Biochemistry, and 132 in Psychology and Sociology.

Andy Contreras

MCAT INSTRUCTOR

Andy Contreras is a fourth-year medical student at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. As the first in his family to graduate from college and with no physicians in his family, he prepared for the MCAT while working full time in the operating room as a neuromonitoring technician. Through Nokota, he hopes to give back to students facing similar financial and nontraditional barriers by providing practical, individualized support and helping make the path to medical school feel more accessible.

Andy Contreras scored 523 overall on the MCAT, at the 99th percentile: 130 in Chemistry and Physics, 130 in CARS, 131 in Biology and Biochemistry, and 132 in Psychology and Sociology.
